Regular consumption of pistachios snacks can influence the composition of bacteria in the digestive tract. US scientists found exploring the benefits of these healthy snacks.
Pistachios have the characteristics of probiotics, i.e. they contain non digestible dietary fibre, which represent food beneficial for intestinal bacteria. These snack foods include physiochemical which show the ability to modify the composition of the bacteria in the intestines.
New research has shown that people who regularly consume about two cups of them have an increased level of intestinal bacteria that produce butyrate, which is an important source of epithelial cells of the intestine, and plays an important role in maintaining a healthy digestive tract.
Just one serving of pistachios of 50 grains has 160 calories and 3 grams of dietary fibre, which represents 12 % of the recommended daily values. They represent an excellent source of vitamin B6, copper and manganese, phosphorus and thiamine.
