Okra is widely used in cuisines such as Caribbean, Creole, Cajun and Indian. It’s flavor is quite subtle, so it benefits from being cooked with strong, spicy ingredients.
- 500 g. okra
- black pepper
Wash and clean this healthy green vegetables thoroughly, cut off the tops and boil in water. After that, strain it well. Fry two finely sliced onions on oil, just to become yellowish, add 4-5 sliced ripe tomatoes, some garlic, parsley, black pepper and salt. Add boiled okra, put lid on the pan and leave it to cook on mild heat for 30 minutes.
Boil 250 g, rice in 0,5 litter salt water. Strain it well and let it dry couple of minutes in the oven. Serve it with cooked vegetables.
