You can serve this is delicious chocolate pudding straight from the slow cooker pot! There are many adaptations of this recipe for Jaffa pudding in slow cooker. Here is one of the best variations:
- 250 g flour
- 150 ml milk
- 140 g brown sugar
- 100 g butter, melted,
- 100 g milk chocolate or milk chocolate with orange
- 50 g cocoa
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 orange – juice
- 1 egg
- ice cream
Remove and butter your slow cooker pot. Put flour, brown sugar, cocoa, baking powder, orange juice and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Whisk orange juice, eggs, melted butter and milk, then pour the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chunks and scrape it all into the pot. Mix ½ pint boiling water with sugar and cocoa then pour this over the batter. Return the pot to the slow cooker base, cover and cook on High for 3 hours until firm and risen.
You can place the cake in the refrigerator and allow the chocolate to set before serving or eat immediately with vanilla ice cream or scoops of orange chocolate chip ice cream. Add Cointreau, Grand Marnier or orange syrup for extra flavor.
Jaffa Pudding can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
The cake is light and the balance of flavors ensures the chocolate isn’t too intense and doesn’t overpower the entire pudding and taste of all other ingredients. Flavors of orange and chocolate are a mixed very well which makes this pudding a unique and delicious dessert!
