All our life they teach us that salt is not very healthy and it should be avoided in a wide circle. But if used in the right way, we can use salt to improve our health. Here is how.
Sore throat can easily be treated by diluting one teaspoon of salt in a glass of lukewarm water and gargling, (no matter how it taste) several times a day. If after three days you do not feel relief, however, visit a doctor.
With this same solution you can alleviate the pain of burns in the mouth, after eating something very hot.
If you have problems with sore gums, in half a glass of water mix a teaspoon of salt and rinse, and for toothache add tablespoon of vinegar. Salty solution can open the clogged nostrils caused by a cold or allergies.
Summer problems – Mixture of water and salt in a form of paste can be used for insect bites, bees, mosquitoes, wasps and other bugs that harass us during the summer. In addition to calm the irritation this paste will reduce the itching.
Can salt stop a migraine?
Yes, if the migraine attack is due to an electrolyte imbalance caused by dehydration, then adding this mineral to water will probably help if you catch it in time. It’s roughly the same as the first intervention most of us receive at the ER. Dehydration may be the trigger, but once the migraine attack is in process, it’s difficult to abort the attack with just a little salty water.
